Child Abuse Prevention - Let's do something about it !!!!

Introducing the "My Body Is My Body" Programme"
According to ISPCAN ( International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect), The Optimus Study 2012 indicates that 25 to 50 percent of children around the world suffer from physical abuse, and that around 20 per cent of girls and 5 to 10 per cent of boys experience sexual abuse. There are substantial consequences not only for the affected persons, but also for society as a whole, and these can no longer be ignored.
The “My Body Is My Body” Musical Programme which is currently being animated and should be ready for release by March 2017, offers a non threatening soft approach to this difficult and sensitive subject. Where approaching young children in a positive manner about Child Abuse Prevention can be a daunting prospect for most parents, teachers and carers, the fun songs in this programme allow you to engage with the children in a simple and positive way.
The programme will give discussion ideas and tips for each song and subject. The most important part of this programme is that the children will remember the songs and the message, and you will be opening the lines of communication for them. Being able to talk about their feelings and problems will be a big step trying to combating child abuse.
A study published in the Journal of Music Therapy, which involved children, showed that music, and learning new songs relate to a more positive self concept and development of self esteem, helping children feel better about themselves.
The songs in the programme are: My Body Is My Body (click on link for video)
