Child Welfare South Africa
CWSA (Child Welfare South Africa) is an umbrella body representing 164 child welfare affiliates, 30 developing organisations, 25 outreach projects and 206 communities. Collectively we reach about 2 million children, their families and caregivers. Consisting of 1200 staff members and 3500 volunteers.
South African Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect
Our foundation is the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which we use to bring children's rights to the top of the international agenda and to put pressure on national governments to promote and protect children’s rights.
We also do our best to empower local people to campaign for children’s rights in their country and promote the use of the law as a powerful advocacy tool. We work in partnership with international, regional and national coalitions, and strive to provide accessible information and knowledge on children’s rights to people and organisations around the world.
Protective Behaviours (PB) is a practical, empowering approach to personal safety. It is a process that encourages and develops self-confidence alongside skills that help us avoid being victimised. This is achieved by recognising our personal concept of safety, trusting our intuitive feelings (early warning signs) that tell us when we are feeling unsafe and developing strategies for self-protection. The Protective Behaviours process links safety with fun and excitement and an adventurous approach to life.

COPESSA (Community-based Prevention and Empowerment Strategies in South Africa) is a multiple award-winning community based organisation whose reason for being is the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
A Safer South Africa for Women and Children.
SaferSpaces is an online knowledge sharing and networking portal for community safety as well as violence and crime prevention practitioners from government, civil society and the research community in South Africa. The portal focuses on preventative approaches as long-term, sustainable solutions to violence and crime.
The Johannesburg Childwelfare Society.
We provide a range of direct services to abused, abandoned, neglected, orphaned and vulnerable children (including those who are infected or have been affected by HIV and AIDS in the greater Johannesburg area). We pride ourselves on the fact that we are one of the oldest NPO’s in South Africa. We recently celebrated 109 years of service to children in need, their families and the wider community.

BGSA is an interdenominational Christian organisation providing care and support to vulnerable children and families. BGSA empowers and strengthens families and mobilises its community to do the same. They aim to restore the capacity of communities and families to care for their children or, where this is not possible, to find alternative families.
